Regional Innovation: Our CEO Valentina Ferrada visits UFRO

Published on June 16, 2026·2 min read·Valentina Ferrada

Last week, we had the privilege of visiting the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO) in Temuco, invited by their academic community to share experiences on innovation and technology.

Our CEO, Valentina Ferrada, led a conversation with engineering students about the journey of building technology ventures in Chile, the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the regions, and the lessons learned while leading StreamData and the development of Snap.

Regional Talent and Drive

During the visit, Valentina had the opportunity to listen to several student teams pitching their own ideas and projects:

"I was genuinely inspired by the creativity and ambition that exists across the regions of Chile. Although building a startup from the regions comes with additional challenges, the talent and drive are outstanding."

Additionally, strategic meetings were held with university leaders and academics to discuss industry-academia collaboration and how to promote applied research in artificial intelligence.

As a special closing moment, Valentina had the honor of signing the University of La Frontera's guest book, a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us and represents the warm welcome we felt from the entire community.

We want to thank the entire UFRO community and especially Gabriel Epuyao Barrientos for organizing this valuable event.
